My first trip to Woodland CaribouPP was in July 2013. Recent by any measure but I certainly wasn’t a stranger to canoe tripping having begun all of that back in 1989 primarily exploring Algonquin Park. Using the Topographic maps for WCPP was fine at times but also painful at others. Lake names were missing, no portages, no campsites. It was a battle.
Once I got back from my 2015 trip, the journey began to modify all the topographic maps for the park – eventually leading to this – one map for the entire area! Unique in it’s own way. A canoe route map without contours or that directive yellow line around the park for you to follow.
Go where you will! Note the water flow, understand the prevailing winds, enjoy the short portages! Paddle through the burns, camp within the burns – experience that! Please do explore – but always do it safely.
Please enjoy this map as a free download (and print off the sections for your upcoming trip) or as a souvenir with a print copy for your winter planning and your wall! For something to bring along on your trip, I recommend the topographic maps (noted on this map), just note the campsites etc. on them and enjoy forever!
